its the way things get done here

Corporate culture is not just about the employees or how they do their jobs. It is all about “the way things get done around here” as understood by most people who have given it a thought. Culture cannot be imposed on the organization, it is rather nurtured. Framing your mission, vision and values and hanging them in your reception or corporate board room will do no good as the people are what they are no matter how you like to have it. Your corporate culture starts with you if you are the promoter, director, chairman, ceo or anybody who once decided if your company is going to be an extension of you or like your offspring.

Good managers make a conscious effort to express the culture of the company to his team. The signals and vibes that managers send out is something that makes an impact on the perception of the employees on the culture of the company.

Nothing disturbs the morale of an employee than low self esteem which in most instances gets triggered by a frustrated manager who puts the blame on the culture of the organistaion and his boss or rather “the way things get done” at the organisation. People management is what is missed out when you are chased by targets and run around squeezing performance out of your team who seldom gets a chance to bring out innovative ideas that drive your success.
